Is the Colorado Democracy Challenge nonpartisan?

Yes, the Colorado Democracy Challenge is a 501(c)3-sponsored activity and is completely non-partisan. We’re not affiliated with any political party, nor do we discuss/advocate for political parties, candidates for political office, controversial political issues, etc. Our purpose is to register all students to vote, and to instill a message about the importance of civic participation.

Is Colorado Democracy Challenge a certified voter registration drive by the Secretary of State?

The Colorado Democracy Challenge is a Voter Registration Drive that is registered with the Colorado Secretary of State’s office.

The Colorado Secretary of State’s website describes a Voter Registration Drive as “a group of two or more persons who distribute and collect voter registration applications in Colorado.” Colorado law requires that VRDs register with the Secretary of State’s office and complete a training course on applicable laws before beginning voter registration activities.

What would a student do while volunteering?

When students volunteer with us in their high schools, they can help us register other students, or they can just join us in getting their peers and teachers excited! We love working with students, because peer-to-peer voter registration and preregistration efforts are the most successful and engaging. Please contact us to get involved: info@democracychallenge.org.

How can I support the Colorado Democracy Challenge?
